Two bodies, one prime, a notebook. Everything else stays home.
Packing light

I used to travel with a bag that weighed more than my suitcase. Now I carry two camera bodies, one prime lens and a paper notebook.

Fewer choices, better frames

With one focal length I stop thinking about gear and start moving my feet. The notebook is for names, light times and the small details clients mention once and expect me to remember.

What stayed home

The zoom, the second flash, the drone, the tripod I used twice a year. Leaving them felt reckless the first time. By the second trip it felt like taking off a heavy coat.

A small kit changes how people see you, too. Nobody stiffens up for a camera the size of a paperback.

The notebook

The most useful thing in the bag costs four euros. I write down names, the time the light turned, the song that was playing. Months later those notes are what bring a gallery back to life.

With one focal length I stop thinking about gear and start moving my feet.
